An experienced Registered Nurse is needed on a contract basis to assist a 5-year-old student during school hours, ensuring her health and safety throughout the academic day. Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current unrestricted RN license
- Prior experience working with pediatric patients, ideally in a school or similar setting
- Comfortable monitoring central lines (no direct care required during the day)
- Familiarity with jejeunostomies and ostomy care/monitoring
- Strong assessment and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor a 5-year-old students central line as per care plan, with no interventions required during school hours
- Observe the students jejunostomy and ensure the ostomy bag is functioning properly, reporting concerns as needed
- Be available to respond to any emergent medical needs promptly, following established protocols
- Maintain clear and timely communication with school personnel and the students family regarding any potential concerns
- Support the students access to learning by promoting a safe and positive environment
- Complete daily documentation and follow nurse-specific protocols of the educational setting
This role offers meaningful, one-on-one care in a caring school environment, Monday through Friday, 9:05 am 3:35 pm, following the students school schedule.
