Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with Illinois Board of Nursing
- Current Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential required
- School nursing experience preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers
- Excellent communication, compassion, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to protecting student confidentiality and promoting a positive school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff
- Conduct health assessments, vision and hearing screenings, and manage immunization records
- Develop and implement Individualized Health Care Plans for students with chronic illnesses or special needs
- Educate students, staff, and families on wellness initiatives, communicable disease prevention, and health practices
- Respond to medical emergencies and administer prescribed medications
- Serve as a resource regarding health policies and advocacy within the school community
