Take your nursing expertise to the next level by supporting students in a therapeutic day school setting near Naperville, IL. In this part-time contract opportunity, youll make a real difference for children who need a specialized environment, ensuring their health and wellness are priorities as they thrive academically and socially.
Your days will be spent onsite for three hours per week, offering vital care to students referred for elevated behavioral needs. As a Certified School Nurse (CSN) with a PEL, your skills will help maintain a safe, nurturing space for students whose public schools cannot provide the specialized interventions required.
What were looking for:
- Active CSN certification
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience supporting students with behavioral or emotional needs encouraged
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
What youll do:
- Deliver skilled nursing care and interventions tailored to each students specific care plan
- Administer medications and monitor complex health needs in alignment with medical orders
- Collaborate closely with educators, therapists, and administration to foster a supportive environment
- Act as an advocate for students physical and mental health needs
- Maintain accurate health records and comply with regulatory requirements
- Serve as a trusted resource for staff and families navigating health-related concerns
