A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Registered Nurse interested in supporting students within an elementary school setting on a contract basis near the Geneva and Naperville, IL areas. This full-time role is ideal for professionals passionate about pediatric nursing and specialized care for students with complex medical needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid RN license required
- Recent experience within a pediatric or school-based setting
- Proficient in tracheostomy care, including routine maintenance and suctioning
- Ventilator certification, with recent hands-on application
- Experience administering G-tube medications and managing G-tube feedings
- Comfortable collaborating with educators, school staff, and families on care plans
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to a dynamic school environment
Role Expectations:
- Deliver attentive daily nursing care to students, focusing on those with tracheostomies, ventilators, or G-tubes
- Assess and monitor students conditions and respond promptly to any health concerns or emergencies
- Collaborate with school staff, classroom aides, and families to provide coordinated care
- Document health interventions, medication administration, and incidents in accordance with school protocols
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as needed, offering clinical insights and advocating for student needs
- Educate staff and families on appropriate care procedures and emergency protocols
