A healthcare professional is needed to provide dedicated nursing support to a student with extensive medical needs in a school setting. This contract position requires either a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) experienced in school healthcare environments. The role will be based in Naperville, IL, with the student located in Chicago, IL (60621), requiring travel between these locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care tailored to the students complex medical requirements throughout the school year.
- Ride the bus with the student to ensure health and safety during transportation.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage medical equipment as needed during school hours.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care, incidents, and observations according to healthcare regulations.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and valid RN or LPN/LVN license with experience in school health nursing.
- Ability to manage extensive medical needs in a pediatric population.
- Comfortable and dependable riding the bus with the student daily.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with students, families, and school personnel.
- Flexibility to start ASAP and engage year-round during the school calendar.
