What Were Looking For:

  • Active Iowa RN or LPN license required
  • Experience in pediatric, school-based, or community nursing preferred
  • Confidence in providing direct care to medically complex students, including those who are non-verbal and need tube feeding
  • Reliable, compassionate care combined with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently within the school setting
  • Ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff

What Youll Do:

  • Provide coverage for a long-term maternity leave (MarchMay) for the school nurse
  • Deliver full 1:1 nursing care for a student with special medical needs from February through June, supporting daily activities such as mobility, feeding, and communication
  • Administer medication, respond to health emergencies, and maintain health records for the assigned caseload
  • Promote student health through education and advocacy in collaboration with educators and families
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students
  • Work on one campus with a manageable caseload focused on quality care
