Licensed and certified RNs, School RNs, Certified School Nurses (CSNs), and LVNs are needed on a contract basis to provide vital health services across multiple school sites within the district. This position is located in the vibrant area near Morgan Hill, CA, with additional opportunities to serve nearby communities including San Jose, Gilroy, and San Martin.
You will be instrumental in conducting vision and hearing screenings, while collaborating with other dedicated school nurses to meet the diverse needs of the student population. Workdays follow the standard student calendar, offering a consistent schedule of 6 hours per day.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Active California licensure as either an RN, CSN, or LVN
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Competency in performing health screenings, including vision and hearing assessments
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
- Compassionate approach to working with students of all backgrounds and abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine health screenings and document results efficiently
- Support ongoing health and case management for students with varied medical needs
- Provide first aid and respond to medical situations as needed on campus
- Collaborate with faculty and other healthcare staff to ensure student health safety
- Maintain accurate health records in compliance with district and state guidelines
