This role offers the chance to make a real impact in the educational journey and daily life of a student requiring close medical monitoring, while collaborating with a dedicated educational community near Minneapolis, MN.
In this position, you'll serve as either an RN or LPN, supporting a student with special needsspecifically, a requirement for frequent tracheostomy suctioning. Youll start as soon as possible, continuing through December, with potential for an extension into the second semester. The assignment includes approximately 35 hours per week, plus time spent accompanying the student on their daily bus rides to and from school. Each morning begins by meeting at the student's home for the journey.
What Were Looking For:
- Active RN or LPN license, with training or significant experience supporting students with special needs
- Previous experience with tracheostomy care, specifically suctioning
- Comfort providing one-on-one care within a school setting
- Ability to coordinate well with educators, school staff, and families
- Dependability for consistent bussing responsibilities
- Commitment through at least December
Role Highlights:
- Deliver hands-on nursing care for a student throughout the school day
- Accompany and supervise the student during bus transport
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communication
- Collaborate with school personnel to best support the students needs
- Provide assistance and instruction as needed regarding trach care to relevant staff
