A healthcare professional is sought to provide in-school nursing services within an elementary school setting. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to support students with specialized medical needs including gastrostomy tube (G-tube) and tracheostomy (trach) care, as well as assisting with bus transportation safety.
Position Details:
- Role: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Hours: Full-time
- Caseload: Support includes bus riding supervision and one-on-one assistance for G-tube and trach care
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Job Duration: Contract, full school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students requiring medical interventions during school hours and on bus transportation
- Monitor and manage G-tube feedings and tracheostomy care, ensuring student safety and health
- Collaborate with educational staff to coordinate individualized healthcare plans
- Respond promptly to any medical emergencies or concerns during the school day or transportation
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare standards and school policies
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with valid state licensure to practice
- Experience in pediatric nursing, particularly with G-tube and trach care, preferred
- Comfortable providing 1:1 support in a school environment and during bus transportation
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school personnel and families
- Ability to work full time throughout the school year contract period
