An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse who thrives in a supportive, one-on-one school environment. Work closely with a 12-year-old female student in Barberton, OH, providing essential care both at school and during bus transportation. This unique role allows you to make a meaningful difference each day for a student requiring specialized medical attention in her educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license valid in Ohio
- Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Comfortable working with pediatric populations, ideally with experience in a school setting
- Able to provide care for oxygen-dependent and wheelchair-bound students
- Skilled with non-verbal communication methods, such as supporting eye-gaze communication devices
- Willingness to accommodate variable scheduling, as you will not work when the student is absentsometimes for extended periods
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable; strong communication and observation skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, continuous nursing care for a middle school student from 7:00am to approximately 2:30/3:00pm, Monday through Friday
- Manage trach and vent needs with a high level of proficiency
- Oversee oxygen therapy and monitor vital signs closely
- Accompany the student to and from school on the bus
- Collaborate with school staff and medical professionals as needed
- Maintain detailed records and support the students daily health and comfort
