Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care as a Registered Nurse in a school setting, supporting a student with complex medical needs on a 1:1 caseload. This full-time role is based in Medford, MA, and involves traveling with the student via bus transportation to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care including administration of seizure medications, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and management of a gastrostomy (G) tube.
  • Monitor and document the students medical status throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with educational staff and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Maintain compliance with school health policies and state nursing regulations.
  • Assist with emergency care planning and response as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts is required.
  • Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred.
  • Competency in managing complex medical equipment and medication administration.
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a school environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Details:

  • Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday.
  • The nurse will travel with the student via bus transportation daily.
  • Support is required for ages within the school-age range.
