Take your nursing expertise to the next level by supporting students in an energetic educational setting this summer! A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) to contribute to an ESY (Extended School Year) program near East Sommerville, MA. The program runs from July 6th through August 6th, operating Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm, serving approximately 115 students from pre-kindergarten through posthigh school age. This is an excellent way to utilize your skills with a consistent scheduleand your weekends free!
Essential Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
- Previous school-based or pediatric nursing experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse student population
- Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills
- Reliable, compassionate, and collaborative attitude
- Commitment to student safety, well-being, and confidentiality
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily health care, medication administration, and emergency response
- Maintain accurate health records per regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with staff, students, and families to address health concerns
- Communicate medical information to appropriate educational partners when needed
- Support a safe, nurturing environment throughout the ESY program
- Promote health and wellness initiatives tailored to the summer program
