A full-time School Registered Nurse (RN) opportunity is available in Lowell, MA, offering a critical role in supporting student health and wellness from PreK through 8th grade. This onsite, contract position requires a dedicated nurse comfortable with commuting between different educational campuses to provide essential nursing coverage.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering comprehensive nursing care to students, managing acute and chronic conditions
- Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
- Conducting health assessments and screenings
- Collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health plans
- Maintaining accurate health records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Responding promptly to medical emergencies and health-related situations
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts LPN or RN license required
- Experience working as a school nurse preferred
- Ability to conduct fingerprinting and complete a CORI background check is mandatory
- Comfortable with travel between multiple campuses within the district
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
This position offers a structured work schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM, totaling 40 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through June 18, 2026. The role requires being onsite and involves regular travel between schools within the district.
