A Registered Nurse is needed to provide dedicated healthcare support within a K-12 school environment in Lowell, MA. This full-time, Monday through Friday contract position involves working closely with a student requiring specialized medical care, including seizure medication administration, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and gastrostomy tube (G-tube) support. The role includes accompanying the student on bus transportation to and from school, ensuring continuous and compassionate care throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care tailored to the individual medical needs of the assigned student
- Monitor and manage seizure medication schedules and responses
- Perform tracheostomy care and suctioning procedures as required
- Administer feeding and medication via G-tube in compliance with healthcare protocols
- Maintain accurate and detailed health records for the student
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to support student well-being
- Safely accompany the student on bus transportation to and from the school setting
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts is required
- Experience providing nursing care in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Competency in managing complex medical needs such as trach care, suctioning, and G-tube feeding
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining student health, safety, and confidentiality
