This contract opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse who enjoys making a meaningful difference each day. The role primarily focuses on individualized care, providing essential nursing services to ensure a safe and supportive experience for a wheelchair-dependent, non-verbal student who requires careful monitoring and expert compassion.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- Prior experience in school nursing, pediatric, or 1:1 nursing roles preferred
- Strong assessment skills, with ability to monitor and maintain airway patency and respond appropriately to seizure activity
- Comfort with medical technologies: oxygen concentrator, oxygen saturation/heart rate monitor, suction machine, emergency medications, seizure protocols
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and medical team
- Reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent nursing support for bus transportation between Medford and Boston College Campus School
- Perform thorough clinical assessments during transportation, ensuring the students safety and comfort throughout the journey
- Monitor and intervene as needed for airway management, seizure activity, and vital sign stability
- Maintain precise documentation of assessments and all interventions carried out during your care
- Serve as a vital liaison, coordinating communication between the classroom nurse, family, and the district supervisor of health services
Assignment Details:
- Dates: ESY 7/12 8/6, then school-year 8/31 6/21/2022
- Schedule: Four days a week (TuesdayFriday), 7:30am4:00pm
