Step into a rewarding environment as a school-based Registered Nurse, supporting a student-centered approach to care. In this contract role, youll provide direct 1:1 nursing to an 18-year-old student onsite during school hours. Youll work Monday through Friday with a consistent daytime schedule from approximately 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, alongside a dedicated support team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois RN license required
- Previous experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team
- Compassion, patience, and a student-focused mindset
- Commitment to upholding health and safety protocols within a school environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide essential tracheostomy care and suctioning for an 18-year-old student throughout the school day
- Monitor overall student health, respond promptly to needs, and administer medications or treatments as prescribed
- Collaborate with a paraeducator who assists with transfers, personal care, and access to lift devices as needed
- Work closely with the students educational team, including on-site training with the schools nurses
- Document nursing interventions and communicate updates to the school team and family as appropriate

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
