A full-time Registered Nurse is needed to support health services at a middle school located in Louisburg, NC. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 9, 2026, with a standard Monday to Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week.

This role requires an RN to manage a caseload primarily consisting of one middle school student who uses a tracheostomy. The nurse will be responsible for providing expert tracheostomy care and ensuring the proper implementation of individual health plans or plans of care. A strong component of the role includes providing supervision and training to the mother, as well as overseeing nursing or medical staff involved in the student's care. Experience conducting health evaluations and assessments in educational settings is essential.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license; LPN candidates will not be considered
• Proven experience in tracheostomy care and management
• Knowledge of individual health plans or plans of care within school environments
• Ability to conduct thorough health assessments and evaluations
• Strong communication skills, particularly in providing supervision and collaboration with caregivers and medical teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to the assigned student with a tracheostomy
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized health or care plans
• Supervise and train the students caregiver and other medical personnel as needed
• Perform routine health evaluations and maintain accurate health records
• Collaborate with school staff to support the students well-being and academic participation
