This opportunity is ideal for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking to apply specialized nursing skills within an educational environment. Located in Leavenworth, KS, this contract position involves providing dedicated nursing care to elementary school students, including one-on-one support and routine medical procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one nursing care to a student with a tracheostomy, ensuring safety and adherence to medical protocols.
- Administer multiple tube feedings to several students throughout the school day.
- Monitor and respond to varying health needs of students with diverse disabilities.
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to maintain comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of nursing interventions and student health records.
Qualifications:
- Current Kansas Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license is required.
- Previous experience in a public school setting is preferred, reflecting familiarity with the educational environment and its unique demands.
- Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care tailored to pediatric populations.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
Location & Schedule:
- Assignment is based in Leavenworth, KS.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
