A unique contract opportunity awaits Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with a passion for pediatric and special needs care. This role involves providing skilled nursing support to students during their morning school bus ride, ensuring safety and well-being from pick-up at the Virginia Barton Education Center through to arrival at school.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current and valid MA LPN or RN license
• Minimum one year of nursing experience, ideally in a school or pediatric setting
• Experience with medically complex childrenincluding g-tubes, seizure disorders, oxygen monitoring, and chronic conditions
• Comfort with emergency medication administration (such as Valtoco or EpiPens)
• Strong observational skills and ability to act swiftly in health-related situations
• Compassionate communication and capacity to support children with diverse medical needs

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ride the morning bus route (approximately 6:15 AM7:45 AM, MF) to provide vigilant oversight and skilled nursing care for students with significant medical needs
• Monitor conditions including status encephalopathy, Angelman syndrome, Type 2 Diabetes, chronic lung disease, and cerebral palsy; provide corresponding interventions as per individualized transportation plans
• Administer medications or interventions as needed, including PRN medications, suctioning, g-tube care, and oxygen therapy
• Maintain open communication with school nurses and follow detailed student-specific transportation plans
• Participate in shadowing and orientation sessions to ensure thorough familiarity with each students needs and established care routines
