Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) role is available in Laurel, MD, serving an educational environment for K-12 students. This position supports the unique healthcare needs of students within a specialized setting, including those with visual impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care and health services tailored to the needs of K-12 students, including those attending a school for the blind.
  • Administer medications, monitor health conditions, and respond to medical emergencies.
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans.
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Support student wellness during assigned shifts.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid Maryland RN licensure is required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as pushing/pulling over 100 pounds and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Experience or interest in pediatric nursing and working with school-age children (K-12).
  • Ability to work evening hours: Monday through Thursday from 3 PM to 11 PM, and Friday from 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills for efficient health management within a school setting.

Schedule and Contract Details:

  • Full-time position with 35 evening hours per week, five days per week.
  • Contract role for the current school year (CSY).
