A traveling Registered Nurse position is available, providing specialized healthcare support within a school setting in Kent, WA. This role is designed for an RN with active Washington licensure, offering a unique mix of preschool health room duties combined with dedicated one-on-one nursing care for a student at Kent Meridian High School. The schedule consists of 32.5 hours weekly, split between working in the preschool health room on Mondays and Wednesdays, and providing 1:1 support at Kent Meridian High School on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Key responsibilities include:
- Administering care for a student requiring G-tube feeding via a Mickey button, initiating feeding upon arrival and concluding it before departure on the bus.
- Assisting and collaborating with paraprofessionals for routine checks and minor care needs during the school day.
- Supporting and training the students family members, including siblings who are actively involved and cooperative in the care process.
- Engaging in bus transport with the student, ensuring health and safety while on board.
- Coordinating with the building nurse at Kent Meridian High School for additional support and continuity of care.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Active Washington state RN license.
- Prior 1:1 nursing experience in a school or pediatric setting.
- Comfort working across multiple settings, including preschool health rooms and secondary school environments.
- Ability to collaborate with families and school staff effectively.
- Experience with G-tube feeding and pediatric nursing care.
