Experience a rewarding opportunity supporting a young learners success in an engaging school environment as a 1:1 Registered Nurse. This contract position is ideal for dedicated RNs passionate about making a difference for students with complex healthcare needs. Youll work closely with a kindergarten student requiring ventilator and tracheostomy care, accompanying them on the bus to and from school and providing attentive support throughout their school day. Your expertise will also benefit the district by assisting with additional nursing duties when the student is absent, ensuring the well-being of the school community at large.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
- Demonstrated experience performing ventilator/tracheostomy care, ideally in a pediatric or school setting
- Strong ability to communicate with students, families, and educational teams
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to varying daily needs
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Key Responsibilities:
- One-on-one care of a kindergarten student with vent/trach needs during school hours
- Provide safe transport support on school bus routes at the beginning and end of each school day
- Proactively address the students health, safety, and comfort while supporting academic engagement
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and the districts health team
- Step into broader nursing roles within school health rooms or assist other students as needed when primary caseload student is absent
