A full-time School Nurse position is available to provide health services to students in a K-12 educational setting. This contract role, based in the Kenner and New Orleans, LA area, offers a valuable opportunity to support student health and well-being during the school year.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) considered
- Previous experience as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills for managing student health records and collaborating with school staff
Location:
- Kenner and New Orleans, Louisiana
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care and health assessments to students
- Manage and maintain health room supplies and student medical records
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Coordinate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers regarding student health needs
- Respond to emergencies and health-related incidents promptly
- Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community
