A full-time Registered Nurse position is available in Kansas City, MO, providing specialized care within a school setting. This role involves supporting a 4th-grade student with special needs, including managing G-tube feeding, seizure disorder, and wheelchair care, while also fulfilling broader nursing responsibilities district-wide when the student is not in attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized nursing care to a student at an elementary school with complex medical needs.
- Coordinate transportation with the student, meeting at the designated bus barn and accompanying them to and from school.
- Manage and operate the school clinic independently, including assessment, treatment, and decision-making.
- Deliver nursing services across grades PreK-12 as required, demonstrating flexibility with scheduling.
- Maintain accurate, electronic health records and collaborate with school staff to support student health.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and ongoing care needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse license in Missouri with no restrictions (license status must be verified).
- Recent experience in pediatric nursing, preferably in ICU, ER, or school nursing environments.
- Strong proficiency in electronic charting and technology.
- Ability to work independently and confidently in a dynamic school setting.
- Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to cover various grade levels.
- No new graduate applicants; candidates must have demonstrable recent clinical experience.
