Step into a dynamic school nursing role supporting students from PreK through 12th grade in a contract position near Kansas City, MO. This position allows you to make a meaningful impact across an entire district. Youll primarily function as a floating health room nurse, traveling between school sites, providing care, and managing various health needssometimes working solo after your initial training period. The role offers both full-time hours through the end of the school year and an opportunity to extend into the Extended School Year program from June 1st to 25th.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Missouri and clear Nursys record
• Recent experience in pediatric settingspreferably ICU, ER, or schools (no new grads)
• Comfortable working with students from PreK through high school
• Confident using computers and multitasking efficiently for charting and communication
• High degree of flexibility with weekly/daily schedule changes based on district needs
• Strong communication skills for regular schedule updates and collaborating with staff
• Willingness to train for 2 weeks and independently manage a health room thereafter

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive health services to diverse student populations
• Rotate between multiple school sites daily, including field trip coverage
• Handle all health-related emergencies and routine care independently as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely health records using electronic documentation systems
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and district leadership to ensure student safety and well-being
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments or urgent district needs

This contract offers a schedule of 3540 hours per week through May 22nd, with an option to continue up to 25 hours/week during ESY in June. Weekly schedules are provided Sundays, with potential for same-day changes, so adaptability is essential.
