A full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is available near Kansas City, MO, providing essential healthcare services within K-12 schools during the contract school year (CSY). This float position supports multiple school health rooms, offering the chance to work autonomously after initial training and utilize your pediatric nursing skills in an educational setting.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct nursing care and managing health room operations independently after a two-week training period
- Serving students from Pre-K through 12th grade, adapting care to a broad age range
- Managing fluctuating schedules between approximately 7:00 AM2:30 PM and 9:00 AM4:30 PM, depending on school site assignments
- Charting all nursing interventions using electronic health records, requiring strong computer proficiency and multitasking abilities
- Adjusting to schedule changes on short notice due to field trips or staffing needs
- Collaborating with school personnel to promote student health and safety
Qualifications and experience sought:
- Current Registered Nurse license in Missouri
- Recent pediatric experience, with a preference for ICU, ER, or school nursing backgrounds; new graduates are not eligible
- Flexibility and comfort working independently across diverse school settings
- Proficiency with technology and electronic charting systems
