Make a meaningful impact in a school community as a School Nurse and help students thrive both academically and physically throughout the academic year. In this important role, you will deliver essential health services while fostering a safe, supportive environment for learners.
The position is a contract opportunity with a full-time schedule, totaling 37.5 hours per week through the regular school year. Youll be the heart of the health office, collaborating closely with staff and families. Responsibilities extend beyond daily care to include conducting medical reviews, and actively participating in education plans such as IEP and 504 processesall within a single, integrated role.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) with valid PEL endorsement for Certified School Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in a school environment or with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and record-keeping skills
- Ability to manage confidential student health records and communicate sensitively with staff, students, and families
- Comfort and competence participating in student support meetings (IEP/504)
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, multi-tasking setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate and manage the school health office, providing immediate care for student injuries and illnesses
- Conduct medical reviews and support safe care planning for students
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, contributing expertise to support student needs
- Act as a resource for health education and wellness initiatives within the school
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for school health services
