Registered Nurse Float School Nurse

Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Duration: Contract through 06/18/2026
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:10 AM 3:45 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Setting: K-12 Schools within the district

This contract position requires a registered nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care across multiple schools within the district. The Float School Nurse will manage a diverse caseload including students with complex medical needs such as diabetes requiring insulin management, asthma, life-threatening allergies, seizure disorders, and spina bifida requiring catheterization. You will be a critical resource supporting student health and wellness while working collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor medications, including daily medication management and emergency treatments
  • Manage health plans for students with chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma
  • Provide specialized care for students with life-threatening allergies and seizure disorders
  • Perform catheterization and other nursing procedures as needed
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation
  • Educate students, staff, and families on health-related issues and care protocols
  • Respond promptly to health emergencies and provide first aid

Qualifications:

  • Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Experience working in school nursing preferred, including K-12 settings
  • Ability to manage diverse medical needs and multiple school locations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
