A healthcare professional with specialized skills in school nursing is needed for a contract role in Athens, GA. This opportunity focuses on providing critical medical support to young students in an educational environment.
Location: Athens, GA
Type: Contract
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
Age Group: 5-year-old student
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care tailored to the needs of a young student within the school setting.
- Manage and monitor tracheostomy care as well as gastrostomy (G-tube) and jejunostomy (J-tube) feeding procedures.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to develop and follow individualized health plans.
- Respond promptly to medical situations and emergencies, ensuring student safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with school and healthcare policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Recent experience (within the last year) with tracheostomy care, G-tube, and J-tube management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a school environment.
