Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license valid in New Jersey
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric nursing setting preferred
  • Strong background in supporting students with special needs
  • Skilled in the care and management of g-tubes, tracheostomies, seizures, and conditions such as cerebral palsy
  • Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff, students, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to all students, with a focus on those requiring complex medical support
  • Respond swiftly to health emergencies, including seizure management and respiratory interventions
  • Administer medication and monitor health treatments according to individualized student healthcare plans
  • Maintain accurate health records and documentation as required by school policies
  • Educate staff and students as appropriate on pertinent health and safety issues
  • Ensure the health room is well-equipped and organized at all times
  • Promote a safe, supportive environment tailored to the unique needs of each student

This contract position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule and the chance to make an impact from now through the end of the school year.
