Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting student health and wellness across multiple elementary and middle school sites in the Ithaca, NY area. As a School Nurse (Registered Nurse), you will travel between 12 district locations, collaborating with other nursing professionals and providing essential coverage where your expertise is needed most.
Your daily schedule runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, ensuring a consistent, full-time routine during school hours. Your skills will help maintain optimal health environments for students, ensuring they receive necessary support to succeed academically and thrive personally.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of New York
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting strongly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a coordinated team
- Willingness to travel to various school sites
- Flexibility to respond to changing needs throughout the district
Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency nursing care to elementary and middle school students
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student health plans
- Cover for other nurses as needed across district sites
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Promote and educate healthy practices among students and staff
- Offer compassionate care and guidance to children with acute or chronic conditions
