A healthcare role is available for a Substitute Registered Nurse to support a school in Houston, TX on a contract basis. This position requires a compassionate and skilled RN with experience in school nursing to provide essential health services and ensure the well-being of students.
The assignment runs from January 21st to February 6th, 2026, for 35 hours per week. The nurse will play a key role in administering medications and assisting in the health room, working closely with staff and students to manage health concerns efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications to students according to established protocols
- Assist in the daily operations of the school health room
- Monitor and assess the health status of students and provide appropriate care or referrals
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with school staff and parents regarding student health issues
- Respond promptly to health emergencies or incidents
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license with valid credentials to practice in Texas
- Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Strong knowledge of medication administration and health room procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
