This full-time contract position as a School Nurse (RN) begins in January 2026 and offers the opportunity to support multiple sites within a school district. Working onsite Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, you will serve an itinerant caseload spanning elementary and middle schools across 12 locations. This role requires adaptability and a commitment to ensuring student health and safety throughout the district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to students within elementary and middle school settings
• Assist and collaborate with other school nurses, offering coverage as needed across various sites
• Manage minor injuries, administer medications, and address health concerns
• Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with staff, students, and families
• Ensure compliance with school health policies and promote wellness initiatives

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current New York State RN license is required
• Previous school nursing or pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in multiple school environments while managing time effectively
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to student care

Location:

• Work is based in Horseheads, NY, covering itinerant responsibilities throughout a district with 12 school sites, primarily supporting middle and elementary schools.
