Job Description

A full-time Registered Nurse is needed to provide comprehensive healthcare support within a K-12 educational setting through the end of the current school year (6/2/2026). This contract position offers an opportunity to utilize your nursing expertise in a school environment, ensuring the health and safety of students across multiple locations within the district, including Highland, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medication and manage health care plans for students
  • Conduct vision and hearing screenings as part of routine health assessments
  • Participate in IEP meetings to support medically fragile students and coordinate care plans
  • Provide first aid and emergency care in school settings
  • Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote student well-being
  • Maintain accurate health records in compliance with school policies and healthcare regulations
  • Float throughout the district supporting various schools as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Certification as a School Nurse or equivalent experience in school health nursing
  • Certification in vision and hearing screenings
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or healthcare settings
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school personnel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and float between schools within the district
