Step confidently into a vital role supporting students across multiple grade levels as a contract Registered Nurse. Providing full-time coverage through the end of this school year (through June 2nd, 2026), youll float throughout a dynamic K-12 setting, ensuring the health and wellbeing of students in a collaborative district-wide environment. This position offers the chance to make a lasting differenceeach day will bring new experiences, from health screenings to direct student care.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Certified School Nurse credential (required)
- Previous school nursing experience highly preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong communication skills and flexibility to work with various age groups
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent health situations
- Proficient organizational and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medication and treatments to students, adhering to district and legal protocols
- Conduct vision and hearing screenings, referring students for further medical evaluation as needed
- Attend IEP meetings as the nursing expert, especially for medically fragile or special needs students
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers
- Provide emergency care and routine first aid across multiple campuses
- Participate in health education activities for staff and students
- Collaborate with broader school support teams to address individual healthcare plans
