Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New York State
- Experience or strong interest in pediatric or school nursing
- Ability to manage confidential student health information
- Skilled in first aid, emergency care, medication administration, and health assessments
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated to working with children of all ages
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, triage, and treatment of student health needs
- Administer prescribed medications and necessary treatments as outlined by student care plans
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to support students' physical and emotional health
- Maintain and update accurate health records in compliance with regulations
- Monitor communicable diseases, provide health education, and implement preventive measures
- Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies within the school setting
