Step into a vital role supporting student wellness and educational success as a Certified School Nurse for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity provides the chance to make a meaningful impact, working with a dedicated team and supporting a diverse group of students with varying health needs.
You will be entrusted with conducting hearing and vision screenings for IEP testing and serving as an invaluable resource to both staff and students. With 78 students on IEPs, your expertise will be central in supporting individualized healthcare plans and promoting a healthy school environment. In addition to direct care, youll consult with and train staff to manage health concerns, including allergies, feeding tubes, or seizures, ensuring that all students receive the best support possible.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified School Nurse (CSN) license for California
- PPS Credential required
- Experience conducting hearing and vision screenings preferred
- Strong knowledge of healthcare plans for students with special needs (IEP)
- Collaborative attitude and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and document hearing and vision screenings for IEP testing
- Consult with staff and provide training on health protocols related to allergies, feeding tubes, seizures, and more
- Develop and monitor health care plans for students on IEPs
- Communicate with families and multidisciplinary teams regarding student needs
- Maintain comprehensive and confidential health records
