Make a real difference in the lives of students by supporting medically complex children in a dynamic school setting near Grand Haven, MI. We're seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses or LPNs to provide dedicated 1:1 care for students throughout the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity involves working part-time hours, split between morning and afternoon shifts to accommodate school bus schedules at various locations, including Orchard, Oakridge, and Ravenna.
Youll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students needing specialized nursing care while in transit and on campus. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive working independently and are confident in their ability to provide high-level care in a school environment.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active licensure as a Registered Nurse or LPN in Michigan
- Previous experience providing 1:1 care for medically complex children
- Preferably trained or experienced in tracheostomy and ventilator care
- Comfortable accompanying students on school buses
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to student safety and confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, compassionate care to assigned student(s) during bus rides and at school
- Monitor, assess, and respond to the needs of children with complex medical conditions
- Communicate any health concerns to appropriate school personnel and family members
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments as required
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Collaborate with educational staff and transportation personnel for seamless care
