Key qualifications and experience for success:
- Current and valid RN license
- Prior pediatric experience, especially in an elementary school setting
- Proficiency in tracheostomy care, maintenance, and suctioning
- Ventilator certification
- Experience with G-tube medication administration and feedings
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Collaborative mindset to work within a multidisciplinary school team
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide daily nursing services, including specialized care for students with tracheostomies, G-tubes, and ventilators
- Assess student health needs and respond promptly to urgent situations
- Coordinate with educators and parents to develop and maintain health plans
- Document care accurately and in compliance with school and nursing standards
- Educate students, staff, and families on best practices in health and safety
