Job Description
A full-time 1:1 Pediatric Registered Nurse position is available at a school-based setting in Franklin Park, IL, supporting a medically fragile student. This role involves accompanying the student on the morning bus and providing nursing care throughout the school day, with additional support for classroom academics as needed. The assignment runs through May 22, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized pediatric care including ventilator management and trach care
- Assist with emergency response procedures and equipment troubleshooting
- Support GT feeding using enteral pumps and maintain feeding protocols
- Manage student positioning, transfers, incontinence care, and skin checks
- Aid with donning and doffing of AFO orthotics
- Collaborate with educational staff to support academic involvement when necessary
- Commute with the student during morning transportation (approximate 510 minute ride)
Qualifications:
- Active, state-issued Registered Nurse license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Proficient in pediatric ventilator care, including understanding of ventilator settings, suctioning, bagging, and alarm troubleshooting
- Experience with trach changes and Heat Moisture Exchanger (HME) use
- Skilled in enteral feeding, skin integrity management, and emergency response in pediatric care settings
- Ability to manage medical equipment connections and student mobility support

This contract position requires onsite presence; virtual candidates will not be considered.
