Make a meaningful impact by providing essential healthcare support to a preschool student in a caring, school-based setting. This part-time, contract opportunity is ideal for experienced RNs or LPNs who are passionate about pediatric nursing and eager to make a difference in a student's school experience.
Position Details:
- Immediate start, with work extending through June 30, 2026.
- Mondays and Fridays only, perfect for maintaining work-life balance.
- Summer employment available, with potential to renew for the next school year.
- One opening available, supporting a vibrant, ambulatory 3-year-old requiring a tracheostomy and ventilator (when ill).
- The role requires both pre- and post-school van rides, as well as onsite care at the preschool.
- Open to both Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses with relevant experience; CNAs and medical assistants are not eligible.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN or LPN license required.
- Demonstrated experience in a school-based setting.
- Comfortable caring for children with high medical needs, including tracheostomy and intermittent ventilator use.
- Ability to navigate the CORI and fingerprinting processes.
- Flexible, dependable, and responsive to the needs of young children.
- Must be available for a virtual interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and attentive nursing care during transport and throughout the school day.
- Monitor and support the students health, collaborating with school staff as needed.
- Ensure all medications, interventions, and ventilation support (if required) are managed according to plan.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with school and nursing standards.
