Your strong clinical skills will be invaluable for the day-to-day healthcare needs of learners while you collaborate with staff, students, and families to foster a healthy, safe learning atmosphere. School nursing experience is a plus, but nurses from clinical backgrounds who can express their enthusiasm for this rewarding transition are also highly encouraged to apply.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- School nursing experience preferred, though not required
- Candidates from clinical backgrounds should clearly communicate their motivation to move to school nursing
- Understanding and acceptance that compensation for school-based nursing differs from most clinical roles
- Willingness and ability to commute to the Waukegan campus; location verification and comfort with the commute are essential
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct, compassionate care to K-8 students during school hours
- Providing health education and resources to students and staff
