Empower young learners by leveraging your expertise as a Registered Nurse supporting elementary and middle school students throughout the upcoming academic year. As part of a dedicated school community, youll play a vital role in promoting health and safety for Kindergarten through 8th grade, impacting students ability to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Your background in school nursing will be essential for this contract, full-time position. The assignment covers the 2026-2027 school year, offering a structured and rewarding environment in which your skills are highly valued and your contributions deeply appreciated.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Illinois RN license and current School Nurse certification per state and district regulations
- Minimum of three years of recent experience working as a school nurse, preferably serving K-8 students
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws concerning school health services
- Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced school settings
- Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish
- Preferred: CPR and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver daily health services, including assessments, medication administration, and care for minor injuries and illnesses
- Maintain meticulous medical records in line with regulations and confidentiality standards
- Partner with educators, administrators, and families to ensure a holistic approach to student wellness
- Facilitate health screenings, manage immunization compliance, and develop care plans for students with chronic health needs
- Provide emergency care and health education to students and staff as needed
