As an integral part of a schools health team, youll serve a diverse caseload ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. Your days will be filled with opportunities to make a positive difference, whether managing chronic conditions, responding to health needs, or promoting a safe, supportive school atmosphere.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, empathetic, and skilled at building trust with students, families, and staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active and valid Illinois RN license
- Prior experience as a school nurse or working with pediatric populations preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to provide compassionate and confidential care
- Adept at promoting health education and preventive care within a school setting
- Proficient in maintaining accurate healthcare documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to students from K-12
- Address acute and chronic health concerns, providing first aid and evaluating needs onsite
- Collaborate with faculty, parents, and allied professionals to develop and implement care plans
- Educate students, staff, and families on health and wellness topics
- Monitor immunization records and manage medication administration according to school policies
- Support a safe and healthy learning environment
