Job Description

This middle school position in Elk River, MN offers an opportunity to support a student requiring specialized instruction in total deafness and hearing loss (TDHH). This contract role runs for the current school year, starting as soon as possible through June 9, 2025, and provides full-time hours focusing on enhancing academic and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach self-advocacy, expressive and receptive language, hearing assistive technology, vocabulary, listening, and transition skills tailored to the student's individual needs.
  • Evaluate the student's academic performance and behavioral progress regularly.
  • Collaborate on Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation ensuring goals align with student needs.
  • Support a caseload consisting of one student with mild to moderate disabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid TDHH certification for Pennsylvania.
  • Experience working with students who have hearing impairments and a strong understanding of related teaching strategies.
  • Ability to assess academic and behavioral outcomes effectively.
  • Skills in assisting with IEP plans and working collaboratively with educational teams.

Location: Elk River, Minnesota
