Embark on a rewarding opportunity to support a young student as a dedicated RN in a specialized role focused on bus riding only. This part-time, contract position runs from ASAP through the end of the school year and is based in a welcoming community near Elizabeth, NJ. Youll be assigned to one elementary school, primarily assisting a recently diagnosed, Type 1 diabetic kindergarten student during their daily bus commute. The schools daytime nursing needs are already met, so your expertise is pivotal in ensuring a safe and smooth transition to and from school for this child.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license in the state
• Previous experience in pediatric nursing or school health preferred
• Compassion and attentiveness specializing in individualized student care
• Comfortable with diabetes care, especially for young children
• Strong communication with students, families, and school staff

Role Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage blood glucose monitoring and necessary interventions during bus transport
• Ensure prescribed protocols for a Type 1 diabetic student are followed consistently
• Collaborate with school nurses, bus staff, and administrators to support the childs well-being
• Communicate regularly with the students family to provide updates and insights
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
