This full-time, onsite position is based in the Elgin, IL area, where you will be integral to student success and well-being at one middle school and three elementary schools. Youll collaborate closely with the on-site Registered Nurses, ensuring all health needs are expertly managed.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) license is required
- Experience working in school settings, especially with middle and elementary students, is highly valued
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to adapt and respond across multiple environments
- Comfortable participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and developing medical emergency plans for students
- Proven ability to support and assist on-site RNs as needed
Responsibilities:
- Provide flexible nursing support across four schools as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of medical emergency plans for students
- Collaborate daily with on-site RNs, offering expertise and assistance for special cases or high-needs situations
- Help ensure compliance with state health regulations and district procedures
- Support student health needs, including chronic condition management and urgent care responses
