Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners at an early childhood center near Elgin, IL, for the upcoming school year! This contract opportunity runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027, covering standard school hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours per week. As a dedicated RN in a Pre-K environment, youll become a trusted presence for children, families, and staff, helping foster a safe and nurturing school setting.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Illinois, in good standing
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred
- Familiarity with the unique needs of early childhood populations
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in health-related situations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with parents, faculty, and young children
- Current certifications in CPR and First Aid
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential medical care and first aid to Pre-K students and staff
- Monitor and support students with acute or chronic health concerns during the school day
- Administer prescribed medications according to health plans and district protocols
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation for compliance and reporting
- Communicate health updates to families and district personnel as appropriate
- Help implement safety and wellness initiatives designed for early childhood
