A fantastic contract opportunity is available for an experienced RN or LPN in a school setting located near Eden Prairie, MN, starting as soon as possible through the end of December, with the possibility of extension for the second semester. This vital role supports a student requiring frequent tracheostomy suctioning, so special needs training and clinical confidence are a must. Your day will start and end at the students home, including accompanying them on the bus to and from school. This assignment covers a maternity leave, with the possibility of further extension depending on staffing needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered RN or LPN license
- Previous experience in a school setting, especially with special needs students
- Proficient in tracheostomy suctioning and related care
- CPR certification (current)
- Compassion, patience, and a student-centered mindset
- Willingness to provide care both in school and on bus transport
- Strong communication and adaptability
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized care to a student with a tracheostomy, including frequent suctioning
- Safely accompany the student during bus rides as part of their health support plan
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Collaborate with school staff and the students healthcare team for continuity of care
- Respond efficiently to emergencies and communicate changes in the students condition
