Step into a meaningful role supporting a medically fragile middle school student as a one-on-one registered nurse in a vibrant educational setting near Easton, MD. This contract opportunity, starting as soon as possible through June, offers a rewarding chance to use your specialized nursing skills within a school environment, making a lasting impact in a young person's life. Youll work onsite, 35-37 hours per week, supporting a student who requires both gtube and trach care. Your expertise is essential in maintaining safety and enhancing daily experiences for your student.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of Maryland
- Demonstrated experience working with tracheostomies and gastrostomy tubes
- Prior pediatric or school nurse experience strongly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond swiftly in emergencies
- Compassionate communicator, adept at engaging students, families, and staff
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in care
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile middle school student
- Monitor and manage trach and gtube interventions, ensuring high standards of safety
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to optimize the students educational access and wellbeing
- Maintain detailed documentation of all care activities and communication
- Respond promptly to all emergencies, delivering calm and effective first aid or interventions as needed
- Educate and support school staff as appropriate regarding student health needs
